Ritchies are the specialist Geotechnical, Concrete Techniques and Blasting division of contractor Edmund Nuttall Limited and have been operating for over thirty years in the U.K. and overseas, providing a quality service to the Construction, Mining and Dredging industries.

Being a division of Edmund Nuttall Ltd, part of the European Construction group Royal BAM, complementary skills and resources can be brought into the solution. Geotechnical

	Ground anchors; straight shafted, pressure grouted and multi-stage with installed capacities up to 11,150 kN.
	Soil nails; full design and construct capability both temporary and permanent works.
	Mini-piles; installed diameters generally in the range of 150 mm - 900 mm. Fast efficient pile installations with advanced drilling systems in difficult ground.
	Slope Stabilisation; rockfall netting installation including tensioned Geobrugg using IRATA certificated operatives and installation of Alpine catch fencing.
	Grouting; controlled high quality grouting for tunnel and breakwater repairs. Bulk grouting of shallow abandoned coal workings. Grouting for ground stabilisation and water cut-off.
	Tunnel strengthening and repairs.

Concrete Techniques

	Sprayed concrete; dry and wet spraying of normal and fibre reinforced concrete with accredited nozzlemen, including work on ropes and marine work
	Concrete repairs; mass and reinforced concrete repairs, cathodic protection, coatings and sealants

Ground Investigation

Ground Investigation and Laboratory Testing; Full investigation service for soil and rock using cable tool and rotary drilling, dynamic probing and window sampling [all by B.D.A. accredited operatives]. Laboratory testing in UKAS accredited laboratory [based in Kilsyth Office].

Drilling and Blasting

	Drilling and blasting for civil engineering purposes – roads, harbours, dams, etc.
	Drilling and blasting in quarries and opencast mines, currently the company drills and blasts approximately 30 million tonnes per annum throughout the U.K. and overseas.
	Underwater drilling and blasting for harbour deepening and pipeline construction. Experience includes work in India and the Middle East.
	Rock excavation using explosive and non-explosive methods.
